Built on three towers sustaining two main buildings, the château de Couanac belonged to the barons of Saint-Cirq-Lapopie from the 12th century onwards. Gothic elements, machicolation, Renaissance south facade: past centuries shaped this medieval place whose particularity is to have been built around a place of worship – as shown by the remaining Chapel.
The family d’Armagnac de Castanet has been living there for one and half century. The château de Couanac, ancient memorial, is opened for visit from May till October.
